Engine 1047 leaving Bottom Points Station. The Zig-Zag Railway was contructed in 1869 as part of themain western line to Bathurst. It was hailed as one ofthe world's great civil engineering wonders. The Zig-Zag Railway Co-op. Ltd. was formed in 1972 and,after eight years of completely volunteer labour,opened steam railway operations again on 30thAugust 1975, utilizing the original Zig-Zag formation.
